Rebecca W. Loraamm, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor in the University of Oklahoma Geography and Environmental Sustainability department (DGES). As both a GIScientist and ecologist, her research agenda centers on the use of Geographic Information Systems for treatment of ecological research questions. Her methodological focus is on spatial analysis and modeling of ecological systems, particularly the interactions between human activities and wildlife and the development of GIS-based strategies for mitigating related conflicts. Her primary goal of her work is to transform the way wildlife ecologists and land managers measure and mitigate the impact of roads on wildlife. She teaches three GIS courses for the DGES department: GIS 2023 Introduction to Spatial Thinking and Computer Mapping, GIS 4013/5013 Fundamentals of GIS, and GIS 4253/5253 GIS Applications, and she is the faculty advisor for the OU GIS club.
